2/4th Battalion (Territorial) Formed at Hammersknott Park Darlington of Home Service men and those classed unfit for foreign sevice. September 1914

3/4th Battalion (Territorial) Formed at Londesborough Barracks Hull, out of recruits under training. 19th June 1915

5th (Cyclist) Battalion (Territorial) Formed at Eagleton House in Park St Hull, from H Company 1st Volunteer Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment and the Howden Company of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. 1st April 1908

6th (Service) Battalion (Pioneers) Came into being at Belton Park near Grantham with the first detatchments of recruits arriving from Victoria Barracks Beverley and NCOs from Section D of the Army Reserve. 27th August 1914

7th (Service) Battalion Came into being when the first party of recruits arrived at the canvas camp in Worgret Wharham. 15th September 1914

8th (Service) Battalion Came into being when the first draft of recruits arrived from the Depot Beverley at Berkhamstead Hertfordshire on 1st October 1915. 22nd September 1915
